In July, the Catholic Society of Maryknoll Convent School (Secondary Section) and Wah Yan College, Hong Kong (WYHK) co-organised ‘Wah Yee Summer School’, a social service project which provided primary school students from Sham Shui Po with a variety of courses.

Before the school term commenced, over 40 student volunteers from the two schools received training and collaborated to plan the lessons and activities. This summer, courses which were more popular among the primary school students included fireless cooking, smart craft, and kpop dance.

The summer school was co-hosted by WYHK and our school. On the first four days (16-17 and 20-22 July), the courses were delivered at WYHK. On the last day (22 July), the summer school concluded with a mini-funfair and a graduation ceremony held in our school.

This project provided our students with an opportunity to serve through teaching, and also enabled them to acquire useful life skills and gain wonderful memories.
