Centenary Symposium: The Changing Faces of Beauty
On 16 March 2025 (Sunday), Maryknoll Convent School’s Centenary Symposium, titled ‘The Changing Faces of Beauty’, was held at Tai Kwun in Central. This event provided a captivating exploration of how perceptions of beauty have evolved and continue to shape our world. It marked a significant milestone in our school’s 100-year legacy, bringing together students, alumnae, educators, and guest speakers to reflect on the dynamic role of beauty throughout history, culture, and society.
Set against the historic backdrop of Tai Kwun, the symposium blended intellectual discourse with artistic expression, featuring showcases of student- led projects that reimagined beauty through photography, design, and performance. This event not only honoured our school’s century-long commitment to fostering critical thinking and creativity but also inspired us to contemplate how beauty will continue to evolve over the next hundred years. It was a fitting tribute to our centenary, uniting our community in a shared celebration of ideas and innovation.
