On 16 October 2025, with the coordination of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), we were honoured to have invited Professor Dame Madeleine Atkins, former President of Lucy Cavendish College of the University of Cambridge, to be our guest speaker. Around 50 MCS girls, joined by students from Hoi Ping Chamber of Commerce Secondary School and Wah Yan College (Kowloon), attended the event.

The talk began with an opening address by Professor Chan Chi Hou, Vice-President (Community Engagement), CityUHK, followed by a dialogue between Professor Atkins and our Careers Master Mr Aaron Chan about her personal journey as well as life at University of Cambridge. Professor Atkins shared her personal experiences and challenges, offering valuable advice on how to become a successful person by embarking on a lifelong journey of learning.

Our students enthusiastically asked Professor Atkins a wide variety of questions in the Q&A session, enjoying the stimulating intellectual conversation. More than ten students continued the discussion with Professor Atkins in the subsequent tea reception, walking away from this experience inspired and confident in their future.
