AI, Innovation, and Law

30/04/2025

On 30 April 2025, Mr Nick Chan, MH, JP, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs and the Director of the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre, delivered an insightful talk about AI, Innovation, and Law to our Form 3 students. With his years of experience in both legal practice and advocacy, Mr Chan brought many unique viewpoints to those who are interested in law, technology, and ethics.

The talk was organised as part of our school’s wider effort to introduce students to emerging societal trends and help students think critically about the future. Mr Chan explored how AI is transforming industries, particularly the legal sector and highlighted both the opportunities and ethical dilemmas this rapid development poses, from the potential of AI to automate the review of legal documents to its use in predictive policing and contract review.

The inspiring sharing challenged students to reflect on how they interact with technology, what values they should uphold, and how they can prepare for a rapidly changing world.
